The Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine has published findings showing evidence that embryonic stem cells can be used to repair arteries, at least in baboons.
Of course there is a way to go before we will be able to take a cell from tissues such as blood or skin and get it to behave like an embryonic stem cell (which can become anything), but this is great progress.
